How many Medallions are there?

10,000. Each medallion is uniquely made for each Chain Runner.

How will the launch work?

Phase 1, until 02/04 – Medallions are reserved for Chain Runners holders only. You can mint one Medallion for each runner you own. The Medallion will be unique to the Chain Runners you choose to mint with. During this phase Medallions are 0.01E each.

Phase 2, until sold out – Medallions will be available to the general public for 0.015E each. All mints in this phase will be assigned a random Chain Runner’s Medallion. If you don’t mint within phase 1, someone else may get your Medallion.

I have a Chain Runner, am I guaranteed my Runner's Medallion?

Yes, but only during Phase 1. After that, all Medallions will be minted at random. You will no longer be able to mint at the Chain Runner price nor get your matching Medallion.

When is the reveal?

Medallions will reveal immediately upon mint. Only minted token metadata and images will be revealed. To enable this the assets will be served by an api service. After they are sold out or minting stops, the assets will be repointed to decentralized storage forever.

Is the art on-chain?

The art is not on-chain. Technical difficulty aside, it is very expensive. If the project sells out and people want it, we will consider adding a complimentary on-chain version. The contract supports adding on an on-chain renderer to attempt this.

What are the future plans?

We view Medallions as an (unofficial) Chain Runners expansion pack. They open some new possibilities for experiences to be built that could be enhanced by owning your matching Medallion or even another Runner’s Medallion.

Perhaps there are powers gained, access, luck, identity or any number of things. We plan to contribute to the sdk or offer a small companion one to make it easy for Medallions to become a building block for any experience.

Is the contract gas optimized?

Yes, considerably. It is more than 50% cheaper to mint and transfer than your standard contract. No fee to list on OpenSea.

How are earnings being distributed?

10% of all mint and royalty sales will go to the Chain Runner core team. The remaining go to a Medallions multisig.
